Company Calls, is an all-girl post punk trio that blasted onto DC's indie scene with its catchy riffs, hypnotic vocals, and no nonsense bad-assness.

From the opening note, these girls will captivate you with their sheer talent. Fronted by songstress Nathalie “Nat” Vega, the band was formed when Nat met Krystle “Krys” Fernandez during a show at Iota Café in Arlington, VA back in 2008. The girls quickly bonded over their love for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Cure, Tegan and Sara and Death Cab for Cutie. At the time, Nat was slated to be the drummer while Krys would be the lead guitarist. However, it wasn’t long before the duo realized Nathalie’s raw vocal talent was just the sound they were looking for. Nathalie is no stranger to singing (or playing guitar for that matter) having been interested in both since 2006 (to this day you will often hear her breaking spontaneously into song at the strangest places).

The girl’s first project titled “iWantAstronaut” (featuring Krystle’s little brother on drums) allowed them to grow as a band and build up their song base. However, the girls found their permanent drummer when Sam Bottorf (an old friend of Krystle’s) re-appeared during the Fall of 2010. Since then the girls have been tweaking their sound jamming in Sam’s basement until 2011 when they found a permanent practice space in a spare bedroom of their Oxon Hill, MD pad.

The band has gone through various stages, which include a name change to “Company Calls” and jumpstarting their career when they were invited to play their debut show at AMA Project’s “Night of Rockin’ Divas” in Fairfax, VA. Selected to close the show they performed with Mas Alla from NJ, and local rockers Down Society. Since breaking the ice and popping their stage cherry in early September of 2012, Company Calls has been busy booking shows including being the opening act for the 2012 Phasefest Queer Music Festival in DC, as well as, booking their first Company Call’s Showcase at a local Maryland spot.

Company Calls is also gearing to record their first demo, while continuing to play live shows to expand their audience. As one new fan succinctly stated after hearing them perform for the first time, “I have a crush on their sound.” Check them out, you will too!

Company Call’s musical influences are wide and varied but feature: The Cure, Death Cab for Cutie, Tune-Yards, AFI, Everclear, Vampire Weekend, Jarrod Gorbel, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, Blink182, The Postal Service, Tegan and Sara, The Strokes, Circa Survive, Girl in a Coma, Cold War Kids, Taking Back Sunday, Motion City Soundtrack, Winter Gloves, The Smiths, Brand New, and Joy Division.
